Who can access the Library?
Anyone with a Library card in good standing can access Self-serve hours at the MLCC Branch. Access will be blocked if your card:
- Owes over $10 in fees
- Has expired
- It has been reported as lost
How do you access the Library?
Scan your Library card and enter your PIN to open the door using the access pad outside the door. If you have trouble accessing the Library during Self-serve hours, please speak with Library staff during regular Library hours.
Please return your items in the external book return slot near the North entrance or the return slot on the exterior of the building near the parking lot.
What is available during Self-serve hours?
You can browse for books, pick up your book holds, and check out items on the self-checkout machines. Library of Things items and Book Club in a Bag kits are unavailable for pickup during Self-serve hours.
During self-serve hours, you can use the public computers and access the wi-fi; however, you won't be able to access the printers.
What do I do if the security gates go off?
If your items are not checked out correctly, the security gates will turn red, and a short alarm will sound. Please return to the self-checkout machine and ensure your items have checked out completely - the titles will turn light green when successfully checked out.
Respecting the space
The Library's Code of Conduct and Unattended Children Policy applies at all times, including during self-serve hours, and the space is under video surveillance.
Please do not hold the door open or allow anyone you don't know to access the space. Abuse of the space, vandalism, theft, or any breach of the Library Code of Conduct will result in your Library privileges being revoked, along with possible legal action.
In case of emergency, call 911.
